Quito.- The body of the candidate for the Presidency of Ecuador Fernando Villavicencio, assassinated on Wednesday by alleged hitmen, was transferred this Thursday from the morgue where the autopsy was performed to a funeral home where he will be veiled.
Villavicencio’s mortal remains left in a hearse around noon, after the relatives of the victim of the attack insisted that the candidate’s body be delivered to them to proceed with the wake to the consternation of the country.
Throughout the morning there was a strong police contingent guarding the morgue where the autopsy was performed on Villavicencio’s corpse.shot dead on Wednesday afternoon at the end of a rally for his electoral campaign.
