Grupo ZF announced that it will install a manufacturing plant for advanced technologies for electric vehicles in Ciudad Juárez, which will also generate new jobs on this border.

The planned investment is 150 million dollars in a first phase, which will support the growth of the electric vehicle business in North America, it was reported through a press release.

Of high technology

The new production plant in Mexico will have high-tech equipment and processes, and will increase and complement regional production capacities for multiple electric vehicle manufacturing clients, it said.

“The e-mobility market continues to gain momentum in all major markets and ZF is investing to match the growth trajectory here in North America,” said John Hawkins, vice president of ZF Group Electrified Powertrain Technology.

For his part, Oscar Ibáñez, representative of Governor Maru Campos Galván in the North Zone, thanked the company for trusting in Chihuahua and reiterated the commitment of the State Government to generate better conditions for the productive sector and the development of talent in the state, being key factors for the industrial growth of the entity.

“Thank you for choosing our state as the home of your second E-mobility facility across the country. To all of you: you will not regret it. We Chihuahuans have repeatedly demonstrated our talent and ability, and we will continue to put the name of our state very high,” the state official pointed out.
