The Provincial Road Safety Agency (Apsv) will reinforce prevention this weekend in the main corridors of the province of Santa Fe in view of the Labor Day holiday that is celebrated next Monday, May 1. Operations were coordinated throughout the provincial territory, in which the main risk behaviors will be controlled.

From the Apsv the recommendations for road trips. Drivers are expected to adopt self-care behaviors so as not to expose themselves to situations that may create safety risks.

He undersecretary of the provincial agency, Osvaldo Aymoexplained that “during this weekend, our Road Safety Police agents will be present on various routes and highways with the aim of sustaining the control policy in the territory that seeks to save lives through prevention.”

“We are convinced -he continued- that it is the State presence on the roads which notoriously contributes to modifying the behavior patterns of citizens, and they underestimate the adoption of important risks for security”.

The checkpoints will be located at the exits to the main routes of the province that the people of Santa Fe take to the places chosen for rest.

To avoid road accidents, one of the fundamental measures is increase awareness when driving, and moving in different types of vehicles. The recommendations to the users of the routes are based on respecting the general rules of circulation and increasing prudence.

In addition, the recommendations focus on check the general mechanical condition of the vehicle, and especially check the brakes; schedule the trip taking into account the people traveling, if there are children or elderly people, etc., in order to establish stops and rest times; do not drink alcohol; wear a seat belt fastened and that children always travel in the back in the CRS (Child Restraint Systems) corresponding to each age, among others.

This long weekend there will be restriction of trucks over 3,500 kilos on 24 routes national, and in the main accesses of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The restriction will be Friday 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:59 p.m. and Saturday 29, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. and Monday, May 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:59 p.m. The measure was published in the Official Gazette by the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), an agency of the Ministry of Transportation, and aims to facilitate the journey of people who travel for tourist purposes to various destinations in the country and prevent road accidents.
