He General Administrator of National Highway, Gustavo Arrietasigned the contract that assigned a Transitory Union of Companies (UTE) from Rosario the construction of a third lane by hand for the RN 9 Highway (Rosario-Buenos Aires), between the Autopista Urbana de Rosario (RN A008) and the RN A012, where the General Motors plant is located. The project confirmed in its construction with the signing of the contract will benefit 36,000 vehicles that circulate daily on the stretch. At the same time, the investment from the National Ministry of Public Works will provide better connectivity for Rosario, Villa Gobernador Gálvez, Alvear and Pueblo Esther.

The work has a two year lead time to cover this expansion of the corridor over almost ten kilometers in length. It is worth mentioning that, from the signing of the contract and the act of initiation to be signed during the next month, the preliminary works will begin for the construction within the central flowerbed of a new lane per hand. Likewise, the installation of the workshop and the movement of the equipment will be fulfilled to give a gradual and increasing volume of tasks in the coming months.

In relation to the most important part of the work, the joint venture made up of the companies Rovial-Edeca-Obring, will present the executive project of the new parallel bridges of the highway over the Saladillo stream, a design that after the approval by the National Highway Administration will begin to be executed within the contractual term. On this point, it is worth mentioning that the current bridges will be demolished in stages, replaced by two new viaducts, 144 meters long each, with three lanes per hand plus paved shoulders.

Another of the improvements will complete the current bridge as a new access interchange to Alvear, a city that will have direct access to the highway through Piedrabuena street. Also, the income and expenses in the distributor that connects the highway with Villa Gobernador Gálvez, by Provincial Route 22, will be readjusted. For greater road safety, the contract signed by National Highway provides for lighting in all interchanges, in addition to the new horizontal demarcation of the widened road and the corresponding vertical signaling adapted to the third lane of the entire section.
