A successful little slab
Sony’s KD-43X72K model has a diagonal of 43 inches, or 109 centimeters. The TV offers a sober design with thin edges, and will fit perfectly into small interiors with a support consisting of two relatively discreet feet. It certainly does not include an OLED panel, but its LCD screen is a success for Sony.
We find a successful contrast ratio, excellent color fidelity, 4K UHD definition, and even HDR10 compatibility for top quality display. This TV embeds Sony’s in-house X1 processor, which notably allows automatic image upscaling. Concretely, this means that an HD source is adjusted in order to correspond to a higher resolution and to avoid a poor quality image. On the sound side, there are two speakers compatible with Dolby Audio.
A good smart TV
The Sony KD-43X72K TV is also a Smart TV, which runs on Android TV. You will thus find the unmissable applications of the Play Store such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney +, MyCanal or even YouTube. The TV has an internal memory of 16 GB, which allows you to download a number of applications and some video content. It also integrates Google Assistant to perform voice commands, and is also compatible with the Alexa assistant. The Chromecast function will take care of broadcasting content from your smartphone, and the AirPlay 2 function will also be there.
On the other hand, the television does not have an HDMI 2.1 port to take advantage of 4K@120 Hz on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox SeriesX, then the panel is anyway blocked at 50 Hz. TV antenna, four HDMI ports, an Ethernet port, two USB ports, a jack port and an optical port.
