Thousands of fish wash up dead on the shores of Salem, MA

Thousands of dead fish washed up on various beaches in the Massachusetts city of Salem on Wednesday.

Residents comment that from 11:30 in the morning on Wednesday they began to see the enormous amount of dead fish. and now the bad smell problem increases as time goes by.

In addition to the concern of residents about the number of dead fish, another problem is added.

“The smell that is killing us, I live in that house there and the pain is already inside the house,” says Miguel Berihuete, an affected resident.

Salem Councilman Domingo Dominguez told Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra that it was all an accident.

“Unfortunately it was an accident that happened to the company that works in fishing already had the Network and suffered an accident and all the fish that are already practically trapped and dead came out and automatically left the Network,” said the Councilor.

State and local authorities managed to locate the company that caused the accident, “they contacted the responsible fishing company, which they understood was an accident and there are no repercussions,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez sends a message of tranquility to the population, “The important thing is that this does not have any repercussions on health, just a slightly bad smell to Manolo as long as they stay there as soon as the tide rises they return to their course again and They go to the middle of the sea or the ocean and there they decompose.”

It is expected that by early Thursday morning or Thursday morning at the latest, all fish will have been removed.
