On social networks, several Internet users drawn at random to obtain two free tickets for the event noted with disappointment during their purchase, that the concert was already sold out.

Disappointment for fans who hoped to attend the coronation concert of King Charles III on May 7. On social networks, several of them denounced a hiccup of the Ticketmaster platform, preventing the purchase of tickets for the event.

To get to the concert, spectators had until February 28 to register for a raffle in order to hope to obtain two free places. A total of 5,000 people were able to send a request, i.e. 10,000 tickets made available.

This Tuesday, Ticketmaster sent an email to Internet users who won the draw with a link to access the ticket office. But some fans noted with disappointment, when buying them, that all the tickets for the concert had already been sold.

“What a disaster”

Faced with the proliferation of criticism on the networks, Ticketmaster clarified the situation. According to the platform, the box office for the coronation concert has already been the subject of two rounds of sales open to the public previously and only the last free seats went on sale on Tuesday.

“The last tickets for the coronation concert went on sale today on a first-come, first-served basis and, unsurprisingly, they sold out very quickly,” a Ticketmaster representative told Reuters. BBC.

Angry netizens who were unable to access their seats say the email they received was unclear about the previous two sales bursts. “This morning I received an email from Ticketmaster congratulating me on having obtained two tickets after the draw. It specified that I had until April 27 at 12:00 p.m. to claim the tickets before they were sold. be brought into play”, explains a user on Twitter.

“I was obviously thrilled and clicked on the link to get access. Ticketmaster then seemed to crash and has been showing this message ever since: ‘Tickets are currently unavailable through Ticketmaster. We are unable to to find tickets at the moment, please try again later,'” he continued.

“What a disaster. I received an e-mail informing me that I had been shortlisted for the vote… I clicked on the link and saw that there were no more places available !”, assures another Internet user on Twitter.

Absence of British stars

Organized the day after the coronation of King Charles III, on May 7 at Windsor Castle, on the outskirts of London, this concert will feature artists Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie and Andrea Bocelli.

This eclectic poster – with the absence of British stars – will also bring together the boy band Take That in its current form and without its founder Robbie Williams or the classical music composer Alexis Ffrench.

There will also be a choir made up of amateurs from different communities: sea rescuers, taxi drivers and reggae groups, in addition to a virtual choir bringing together representatives of the Commonwealth, an alliance of nations composed mainly of former British colonies.
