The men’s table tennis team, made up of Brian Afanador, Daniel González, Ángel Naranjo and Oscar Birriel, clinched the first medal by beating Costa Rica 3-0 in the quarterfinals. Likewise, Puerto Ricans Adriana Díaz, Alondra Rodríguez, Brianna Burgos and Melanie Díaz defeated El Salvador 3-1.
On the other hand, the 50-kilo boxer, Krystal Rosado, dressed up this Thursday as a beast in the ring. The first Puerto Rican to open the action for the women’s team controlled her opponent from the Dominican Republic, Novoanny Núñez, from start to finish to win by unanimous decision. Another victor for him was Puerto Rican Caleb Tirado, who defeated his Jamaican opponent Sanji Williams 5-0.
For his part, Brito fell to the Venezuelan Diego Pereyra in the 80 kilos. The Puerto Rican debuted in the division and in the adult category, in these, his first Games.
