Peruvian percussionist Tony Succar came to Tokyo (Japan) for the first time to record a song with Nora Suzuki, the main voice of the renowned ‘Orquesta de la Luz de Japón’, which became famous in Latin America in the 90s, since the singer and the musicians interpreted the salsa genre almost without knowing Spanish.

“What an honor to meet Nora! Up Peru and Japan! It was a great honor, you are amazing, really. You left me impressed, what a taste. Love you very much. Tremendous bomb that we recorded today, ”Tony wrote on his official Instagram account, accompanying the photos of the meeting and the moments they shared in the recording studio.

For her part, Nora Suzuki also wrote in her latest Instagram post and said that she is looking forward to hearing the song they recorded together.

“Today is an unforgettable day! I met Tony Succar and recorded a song for his third album. I was really super happy recording (recording happy). Thank you. I love you Tony, you are loving. I can’t wait to hear the mix of this song”, posted the vocalist of ‘Orquesta La Luz’.

As is known, the two-time Latin Grammy winner arrived in Japan two days ago and immediately began producing what will be part of his new album.

The flavor has arrived in Japan, the land of my ancestors! The feeling is incredible. I feel at home. Tokyo will be very special and musical days”, he shared on Instagram.

On the other hand, the Orquesta de La Luz, a few months after releasing its first album in 1991, played in one of the most important stages in the world such as Madison Square Garden in New York, the salsa epicenter of the world.

Nora herself affirmed that it was one of the most unforgettable moments of the Japanese salsa group and remembers that they not only sang their great hit, ‘Japan Hot Sauce’ and also shared the stage with two legends of the genre: Oscar D’Leonthe pharaoh of sauce, and Titus Bridgebetter known as ‘the king of the timpani’.
