The engineering service provider can look back on a successful first half of 2022/2023. Bertrandt benefited from increased demand for development services and successful project acquisition. Total output increased by 17.6 percent to over EUR 573 million in the reporting period. Due to the pleasing development in the first six months of the 2022/2023 financial year, the forecast for the expected growth in total output has been adjusted and is now between EUR 100 and 150 million (previously EUR 60 to 100 million). In addition, the Bertrandt Group was able to set a new record with 13,715 employees.

In the past half-year 2022/2023, Bertrandt recorded increased demand for development services, increasing project awards and improved capacity utilization in Germany and abroad after the pandemic. “In the past reporting period, we benefited from the high level of research and development investments made by our customers. The focus of these investments is on the megatrends of electromobility, autonomous driving and digitization. These areas of innovation therefore remain important growth areas for our Group,” says Markus Ruf, member of the Management Board of Bertrandt AG.

Total output in the reporting period was EUR 573,135 thousand (previous year: EUR 487,251 thousand), which corresponds to growth of 17.6 percent. In the first six months of the 2022/2023 financial year, EBIT increased by 15.1 percent to EUR 23.999 million (previous year: EUR 20.846 million), corresponding to the increase in total output. Earnings after taxes amounted to EUR 13,963 thousand in the reporting period (previous year: EUR 10,844 thousand). As of March 31, 2023, the Group employed 13,715 people. This corresponds to an increase of 985 people and is the previous record in the company’s history. The need for personnel is due, among other things, to the pleasing market development and the internationalization of the Group.

Based on the development in the past first half of the year, the company essentially confirms the statements made in the forecast for the 2022/2023 financial year as presented in the forecast report in the 2021/2022 annual report. Deviating from this, Bertrandt now expects the expected growth in total output to be between EUR 100 and 150 million (previously EUR 60 to 100 million). The BIT margin (EBIT in relation to total output) is expected to be between 4.1 and seven percent. The investments should be between 25 and 40 million euros. A positive cash flow from operating activities is also expected.
