NEW YORK — A New York tour boat with 36 people on board capsized Tuesday during a cave tour Monday, the agency said. Police from the city of Lockport.
Police and fire crews were called to lockport cave, about 20 miles northeast of Niagara Falls, around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The sightseeing tours take visitors on an underground boat ride lit only by tiny lights.
“Teams are working to help all parties safely exit the area,” police said in a news release. It was warned that the streets around the site were closed to make way for emergency vehicles.
