Algeria is moving towards exports and various Algerian products are concerned by this, in this case medical and pharmaceutical products.

This Thursday, January 5, 2023, the Minister of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, received the Qatari Ambassador to Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali Naama, to discuss the export of Algerian medicines and pharmaceutical products to Qatar.

According to a press release from the ministry, the meeting enabled the two parties to discuss the possibility and opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of the pharmaceutical industry. This is with the aim of developing the partnership and promoting the export of pharmaceutical products to Qatar.

In this context, the two parties have agreed to provide the Ministry of Public Health of the State of Qatar with a list of medicines manufactured in Algeria. Support its export to the sister country.

The two parties also reviewed “the investment potential in the pharmaceutical field in partnership between the two countries, through the construction of a pharmaceutical factory in Algeria”.

Insulin production in Algeria will start on January 10, 2023

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, indicated that the production of insulin will start in Algeria, from January 10.

Indeed, on Tuesday January 3, 2023, during the inspection visit of certain pharmaceutical institutions at the level of the industrial pole of Sidi Abdallah, in the wilaya of Algiers, or the wali of the wilaya of Algiers, Mohamed Abdelnour Rabhi, accompanied him, Minister Aoun clarified that the factory at Oued Smar in Algiers is ready for use for the production of insulin, but also that the actual production will start from January 10. By specifying on this subject also work will be carried out to reach the coverage 50% of the national needs.
