The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitounipresented a roadmap that includes six main axes to regulate the sector.
Several areas were discussed among them, the establishment of a ” plan de distribution ” to cope with rising prices and ensuring a regular and fair distribution of consumer goods.

This strategy, which materializes the reforms initiated by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is based on the ethics of administrative work and the encouragement and enhancement of skills. The strengthening of coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and local groups is aimed at in order to be able to absorb the parallel market and redirect completed commercial spaces.
The Minister has stated that there is a will to approve an ongoing compliance monitoring program for products offered for consumption and to rely on the transparency of commercial practices applied by different concessionaires. He called on economy dealers to review the profit margin applied to all products sold.

Inflation % up in Algeria

In March 2023, compared to February, the CPI increased by 1,9% at the national level, with an increase of 3,1% food prices. The annual inflation rate also increased to 9,4% in March, against 9,3% in February.
