A 65-year-old man riding a bicycle died this Monday in a tragic accident that occurred in Villa Elisaon the Camino Centenario at the height of 54th street, when for reasons that are being investigated a bus from line 418 ran over him.
The accident, reported after noon on the holiday, caused a commotion in the area, and serious disruptions in traffic through this key access to the city, since traffic had to be interrupted.
Police sources told 0221.com.ar that after the alert issued through a call to 911, the troops who arrived at the scene of the accident checked the scene, with the cyclist already deceased after the impact with inmate 122 of Line 418 of the Unión Platense company, which It was driven by a 22-year-old driver.
The collision occurred on the uphill path to the north of the district and the fatal victim, identified as Manuel Santiago Duran, lay lifeless on the asphalt. His death was corroborated by medical personnel from SAME La Plata who were present at the scene.
The victim’s body was transferred to the judicial morgue for an autopsy while a legal case was opened under the heading of “culpable homicide.”
