The images of the incident – ​​which occurred after the driver Osvaldo Tizera, 29, lost control of his vehicle and got confused – show that the victims were located between two mounds of sand and several plants, next to a truck parked. At that moment they were surprised and run over by the car. Producer of the crash, Hernán Díaz, 35, who tried to cover his partner when he warned what was about to happen, died instantly.

The video of the accident was recorded by one of the witnesses, who was with his son enjoying the competition on the opposite side of the ‘track’ where the incident occurred. The man was filming with his cell phone how the cars were going around the curve, when at the exit of it one of the drivers lost control and left the track.

The young people had attended the celebration of the first date of the sand safaria speed racing event organized by the Safari Association and Areneros Unidos in the municipal circuit located on kilometer 408 of Route 11. There, this Saturday, free and qualifying tests were held.

The competition was scheduled to continue on Sunday with the final stage, since a symbolic start had been organized in the center of the city as part of the event, but after what happened, the organization decided to suspend it.

The tragic event brings to mind other similar incidents that occurred in the dunes. Several occurred in the “La Frontera” area of ​​the neighboring town of Pinamar. There, for example, in the summer of last year, a vehicle accident occurred as a result of imprudence behind the wheel: a 4×4 truck rammed a motorcycle while it was in a tailspin. As a consequence, the motorcyclist suffered multiple fractures. Meanwhile, the other driver was arrested.

As in the current case of Jessica Mariana Alvarado, this accident was also recorded on a cell phone belonging to one of the witnesses. The images show the black Volkswagen Amarok advancing at full speed in the middle of a dive with two other trucks when suddenly a blue Yamaha motorcycle crosses its path, whose driver, a man named Gonzalo Rodríguez, was fired when he was hit. .

Rodríguez was seriously injured. He suffered a fractured clavicle and right humerus, among other injuries, and had to be rushed to the municipal hospital.

For his part, the 49-year-old man who was driving the Amarok, a native of the city of La Plata, was apprehended and transferred to a cell at the First Police Station of the city, in the framework of a case for the crime of culpable injuries. .
