ASUS multiplies the novelties and presents its new TUF laptops. On the program: 13th generation Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 9 (Zen 4) processors and Radeon RDNA 3 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs.

After the machines for creators (ProArt Studiobook and Vivobook Pro) and the Zenbooks, it’s time for the TUFs. These gaming laptops are evolving and it starts with TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. This new model (FA617) opts for a 100% AMD configuration with a Ryzen 9 (Zen 4) processor, a Radeon RDNA 3 GPU and the Smart Access Graphics system. ASUS advertises a 90% screen-to-body ratio with a 16-inch panel (up to QHD) and a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. Inside are 84 Arc Flow fan blades and up to to seven heat pipes, in addition to four exhaust ducts.

The TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition adds RAM (DDR5 4800MHz) and up to 2TB of storage (PCIe 4.0 x4). ASUS adds USB4 connectivity and a 90 Wh battery, with support for USB-C Power Delivery (PD). The machine supports Dolby Atmos and has a Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation function to improve communications.

ASUS indicates that its TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition (FA617) will be available from the first quarter of 2023, starting at 1,699 euros.

ASUS TUF GAMING F15/17 and A15/17

In addition to this Advantage Edition model, ASUS offers four new iterations called F15/17 and A15/17. The manufacturer specifies that the F15 and F17 models are equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900H processor while the A15 and A17 versions opt for an AMD Ryzen 9 (Zen 4) processor. The brand adds an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU for gaming up to 1440p.

For the storage part, there is an empty NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD slot to improve storage capacity. All four models now feature a Switch MUX with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, the first offering to bypass the integrated graphics card when gaming. This helps improve performance and reduce latency. The NVIDIA Advanced Optimus allows this process to happen automatically.

To ensure proper cooling, these portable machines feature dual Arc Flow fans with an 84-blade design. These fans deliver up to 13% more airflow than their predecessors and are quieter than last year’s model.

Prices and availability

The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (FA507) will be available in the first quarter of 2023, starting at 1,499 euros. At the same period, the TUF Gaming A17 (FA707) will be displayed from 1,599 euros.

Regarding the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (FX507) and F17 (FX707), they will also be available in the first quarter of 2023. The starting price is set at 1,599 euros for the 15-inch model and 1,799 euros for the 17-inch version.
