Dortmund.
The city and police are arming themselves for the turn of the year in Dortmund with mobile guards and emergency services in the no-gun zones.

This year there are fewer prohibited zones for New Year’s fireworks in Dortmund than in previous years. But as usual, firecrackers are banned in two areas: at the main station and in the city center.

The police want to be out and about in these areas openly, but also covertly, the city and the police say. The city guard on Brüderweg is manned from 8 p.m. In addition, so-called “Mobile Guards” on duty: two from the city of Dortmund and one from the police. These can be found in the area of the Katharinentreppe and in the area of the Reinoldikirche.
