Two young Argentines died this Wednesday in a traffic accident in the city of Punta del Este, Uruguay. Two cars were involved in the head-on collision, both with Argentine patents. Due to the fact there are also another seven injured.
The fatalities were identified as María Josefina Ferrero and Micaela Trinidad, both 27 years old. The accident occurred at 2:00 p.m. at kilometer 101 of Route 104, near the Manatiales de Maldonado spa.
Michaela and Maria they had gone to the neighboring country with a large group of friends to celebrate New Year. The first was the driver of a Ford Ka, while the second was traveling as a companion.
Next to them were two more women: Melanie Larraburu, who is now seriously injured and admitted to the Cantegril sanatorium with multiple injuries and a fourth woman who has not yet been identified. She is she also suffered serious injuries.
In the other roll, a Volkswagen Nivus, five people were circulating: Nicolás Rocca was the driver and the passengers were identified as Nazarena Sierra, Melina Antun, Juan Pablo Sentero, and Luciano Strasera.
Rocca was also transferred to the Cantegrill Sanatorium with polytrauma. It is believed that both groups knew each other and had even spent the New Year holidays together.
