A call for a strike was launched following Yves Guillemot’s remarks. The union directly targets the management of Ubisoft France and denounces the disempowerment of the co-founder in the face of the difficulties that the company is going through: “reductions in staff, discreet closings of studios, managerial pressures, burnout”, quotes the union in a press release. The union assures that the management is always asking for more mobilization from the employees, but “without compensation”.
Difficulties for several months
Through this call to strike, Solidaires Informatique is demanding four demands: an immediate 10% increase for all wages “to compensate for inflation”, the introduction of a four-day week, more transparency on the evolution of workforce, as well as a “firm commitment against disguised dismissals and a condemnation against abusive managerial policies”.
