Several councilors expressed their concern that attention has not been given to this department, with similar functions to the Receivership but with the authority to take action against acts of corruption or administrative failures by public officials, a power they do not have. the trustees.
In response, the municipal president Cynthia Ceballos pointed out that the disappearance of the Internal Control Body was due to various modifications that were carried out in the guidelines that govern this department, so it will be necessary to make adjustments to be able to put it to work.
Likewise, the mayoress cited that there are various issues that involve the creation of an Internal Control Body, for which reason she rejected that it is an omission of the administration not to have reactivated it, since “it was not only passed to the Presidency, but to all the others”, who are just asking about said department.
After a series of observations in which the need to have an Internal Control Body in the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes was classified as “urgent”, the members of the City Council agreed to begin an analysis of the municipality’s finances to rescue the resources that can sustain the hiring and operation of this department.
Finally, they expressed the need for the Internal Control Body to function as such, it must be protected by legal and administrative instruments that give it autonomy, because if it remains dependent on the municipal government, its mission will be compromised and influenced by the interests of the administration in turn and the objective of achieving transparency that will restore the trust of citizens will not be achieved.
