Uruguay got three points at home by defeating Colombia 1-0 in the game for date 1 of the CONMEBOL – Sub 20 Colombia 2023 tournament. The local team scored the only goal of the game after 32 minutes of the second half, through Facundo Gonzalez. After an individual move over the center, the defender finished off the goal and beat the rival goalkeeper to score his goal.

Cristián Garay was appointed as the main referee of the match in the Campín.

On the following day, Uruguay will play at home against Ecuador and Colombia will play at home against Paraguay.
