USCIS eases process for L-1 visa petitioners

A change in the processing of petitions for the L-1 visa of the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will allow applicants to have a faster and safer response.

“When a petitioner files Form I-129S, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Visa Based on a General L Petition, along with a Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, they will now receive two notices: the receipt notice and the notice of receipt. approval (if the application is approved),” USCIS reported in a statement.

It should be remembered that this permit allows a company move employees from any country to a location in the United Stateswhether at the executive, managerial or highly specialized personal level.

USCIS indicated that petitioners will no longer receive a Form I-129S, which was stamped and signed along with the approval of Form I-129.

“Instead, the petitioner will receive a separate approval notice for Form I-129Swhich serves as an endorsement,” the agency said in a statement.

In this way, the approval notification will be evidence that a USCIS official determined that the beneficiary is eligible to obtain the L-1 visa.

“The beneficiary will also be provided with a copy of said notification to be included with his visa and/or admission papers,” it was stated.

USCIS, which Ur Jaddou directs, after an executive order by President Joe Biden to facilitate immigration procedures, has implemented several changes.

However, the agency is facing significant delays, also stemming from closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
