The accident occurred yesterday on E. Dry Creek Rd. between S. Yosemite St. and S. Alton Way, around 1:30 p.m., the driver of a vehicle lost control and collided with the parking lot of a building, causing the vehicle caught fire.

Unfortunately, the driver died at the scene, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital and declared deceased hours later.

As a result of the accident, all eastbound lanes of E. Dry Creek Rd. were closed, with only one westbound lane open to traffic.

According to eyewitness reports, two vehicles were racing at high speed eastbound on E. Dry Creek Rd., with the vehicle involved in the accident estimated to be in excess of 100 mph. The tragic event left two fatalities, both men.

Currently, the eastbound lanes of E. Dry Creek Rd. between S. Yosemite St. and S. Alton Way have been reopened to traffic, but the accident is still under investigation by law enforcement.
