MADRID-. More than 7 thousand kilometers away between Madrid and Caracasa remarkable group of Venezuelans residing in Spain gathered on July 28 to shout for freedom for the presidential elections.
Hundreds of Venezuelans who left their country for a better opportunity, who belong to the almost 8 million citizens abroad, gathered in Plaza Colón in Madrid, very close to the Salamanca neighborhood.
Amidst bagpipes, flags and the Vinotinto uniform, Venezuelans are calling for freedom for their country and an end to the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro.
Many of those close to the rally agree that they were unable to exercise their right to vote after failing to register, despite meeting all the requirements that the consulate demanded.
“I am really frustrated by not being able to exercise my right to vote. However, I am completely confident that with the vote of my relatives in Venezuela, we will achieve our goal,” Gustavo Raven said.
