A thick column of black smoke put everyone on the shores of the Río de la Plata on alert and shortly after it was learned that a ship was on fire a few meters from the shore. According to the first details of the event, at least three people were traveling on the boat and they could all be rescued in time.

The boat, which had departed from San Fernando, began to burn while it was located on the Emilio Miter dredging channel, right in front of Aeroparque and the Christopher Columbus monument, on the northern waterfront of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The crew members issued the alert and several vehicles came to their aid, carrying out the first tasks of containing the fire.

Upon reporting what happened, the Argentine Naval Prefecture coordinated a rescue operation and established communications with two vehicles -Gracia and Le Blue- that were sailing nearby. Between them they rescued the crew members of the burning ship.

A helicopter from the Prefecture with rescue swimmers on board are still working in the area together with the GC-70 Río de la Plata and SB-8 coast guards from the Rescue, Fire and Environmental Protection Service of that force, all units equipped with equipment to fight the fire.

The ship involved is an Azimut III sports boat, in which three people were traveling who fortunately could be rescued by other vehicles that were in the place. For reasons that are still not entirely clear, the ship began to catch fire and led to a wide deployment of security forces to avoid further setbacks.
