Vinotinto organizes farewell match for its eternal player Juan Arango

The Venezuelan Football Federation announced important news for its history. In a conference between FVF directors and journalists, they announced the farewell match that was missing for the eternal player of the Red wine, Juan Arango.

Despite not yet revealing the details or the exact date, it was learned that the meeting will be scheduled for the month of September prior to the resumption of the South American Qualifiers.

“I’m quite excited. “It is the perfect moment,” commented Arango, who thanked the national team coaches for the opportunity. “I thank Bocha (Fernando Batista) and Checho for accompanying me at this moment, we have shared in Miami and we share ideas.”

Juan Fernando Arango is considered the best player to wear the shirt of the Red wine and with the best performance in European leagues.

The left-handed native of Maracay, Aragua state, announced his retirement from Vinotinto on September 8, 2015 after playing 15 minutes in a friendly match against the Panama team. However, he had not had the opportunity to say goodbye with the national team that he captained for more than a decade.

With the Vinotinto National Team he participated in 129 official matches, scored 23 goals and gave 25 assists. He played in six editions of the Copa América and was present in four World Cup Qualifiers.

In addition, he played in the South American U-20 Championships and Olympic Qualifiers in 1999 and 2001, playing 8 games and scoring 3 goals.

In professional football he defended Nueva Cádiz, Zulianos FC, Caracas FC and Zulia FC in Venezuela. Abroad he played with Monterrey, Pachuca, Puebla and Tijuana in Mexico. Mallorca in Spain, Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany and New York Cosmos in the USA. He accumulated 683 games, 162 goals and 144 assists.
