The VW ID.7 complements the growing line-up of electric cars produced by Volkswagen. The car is based on the Aero3 concept car, which the company presented some time ago. According to the manufacturer, the ID.7 will be launched with an all-electric range of around 700 kilometers.

According to VW, with the ID.7 they want to expand their own range of electric cars in the direction of the upper class. The vehicle should therefore offer top-class technology and quality, according to the company. By 2026, VW plans to launch a total of ten new electric cars, with the ID.7 being one of those models, according to Thomas Schfer, head of Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
Hardly any details known so far
So far, apart from the initial information on the target range of the ID.7, there are only a few details about the vehicle. VW recently only revealed that the car should have a head-up display with augmented reality functions, a 15-inch infotainment display and digitally controlled fan outlets. The latter should be adapted for each passenger and controlled using voice control. Touch operation is also further implemented here. The wheelbase of the ID.7 is 20 centimeters longer than that of the small ID.4. Visually, the car is therefore reminiscent of models like the Passat, just with the design language that VW has been adapting to its other electric cars for several years. It is still unclear when production of the vehicle should start, but it was made clear that sales should start in Europe as well as in the USA and China.
At the trade fair in Las Vegas, the ID.7 has a special paint finish consisting of 40 electrically illuminated layers that can glow in different colors and is divided into 22 individually activatable zones. If you play music in the vehicle, the color should be able to pulsate and flicker to match.
