The next betas are waiting for hard-working developers. This time it’s about the Apple Watch and the Mac.

Beta 1 of macOS Sonoma 14.1 has just been released.

And the new version watchOS 10.1 is the first major version after the release of watchOS 10 for all users. We’re excited to see what Apple has in store for 10.1 and are already installing the software.

That brought watchOS 10

Many of you love the new interactive Snoopy watch face. Who needs it? Kids and younger users maybe – it’s cute in any case.

But the most important asset of watchOS 10 is something else: Apple brought widgets to the Apple Watch with the large version 10.

Many apps have been revised, for example the world clock; they now make better use of the screen size of the newer watch models. There are also many improvements for sports fans: New cycling functions in watchOS 10 ensure that the watch now connects to various cycling sensors via Bluetooth. As with Peloton, performance zones will also be displayed in the future.

These are the new health functions for the watch

More health features are also provided: two new areas for health on the watch are planned, especially mental health. In a “mindfulness app” users can record how they are feeling at the moment – as a diary for their mental well-being. A tool against anxiety and depression. The other focus is vision health, particularly myopia.

New interfaces for creating completely new workouts

There are also new interfaces for developers to create new workouts. The watch detects the finest movements when playing golf or tennis. There were also new functions for the compass and the map app on the watch.
