The new watchOS 10.1 beta is exciting – because of one special feature.
As was previously known, it provides the basis for the double tap feature announced at the last event. It is reserved for the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models.
Two finger confirmation
With it, Cupertino transfers a concept from the Apple Vision Pro – before its release – to the smartwatch. After the update, users can press their thumb and index finger together on the new devices to confirm actions on the watch.
In this way, for example, a call can be accepted. Or you can select a button from an app or an upcoming notification on the watch.
However, the function cannot yet be used with the first beta. It is implemented in the code, but there is no setting option for it. This will probably follow in one of the next pre-release versions.
