We must end the war with Russia as soon as possible.

MIAMI- After an unnecessary war that has devastated Ukraine and left tens of thousands dead, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his understanding of the need to end the conflict with Russia as soon as possible.

At a meeting in kyiv with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Ukrainian president stressed the importance of ending the war quickly. He also described Parolin’s visit as a strong signal from the Vatican.

In an interview with the BBC published on July 21, Zelensky discussed the possibility of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite a decree in force in Ukraine banning such talks.

The head of state from kyiv said that no one would agree to an armed conflict that would last for another 10 years or more. He also mentioned that Russian representatives should take part in the second conference on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

Days earlier, it was learned that Zelensky had spoken by telephone with former President Donald J. Trump, who described the conversation as very fruitful, suggesting that the Ukrainian accepted the recommendations of the former head of the White House and potential winner of the presidential elections in November.

Before the meeting of the Atlantic Alliance (NATO) in Washington, the Ukrainian leader called on the leaders of the I’LL TAKE to remove “all restrictions” on attacks from kyiv on territory Russian with Western weapons.

Zelensky talks with Trump

“I, as your next President of the United States, will bring peace to the world and end the war that has claimed so many lives and devastated countless innocent families,” the former president wrote on his Truth Social platform. He did not clarify how he would do so.

Zelensky confirmed the call. “We agreed with President Trump to discuss in a personal meeting what steps can make peace fair and truly lasting,” he said.

“I have noted the vital bipartisan and bicameral American support to protect the freedom and independence of our nation,” the Ukrainian president said on social media X.

Trump is ahead in all national polls to retake the presidency of the United States and many analysts give him as a virtual winner against any candidate chosen by the Democratic Party for the elections of November 5, after the forced resignation to Joe Biden’s re-election. And Trump and the nation’s vice presidential candidate JD Vance want peace, not war, unlike the left and the far left in the US.

The details of the talks have not been made public, but analysts agree that Trump most likely called on the Ukrainian leader to negotiate peace as soon as possible due to the stance of the former White House tenant.

The Biden administration has sent more than $200 billion in military, logistical and financial aid to Ukraine. According to foreign policy experts and lawmakers in Washington, the current administration in some ways encouraged the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine by encouraging Zelensky to join NATO to authorize the organization’s military bases, which included missiles and high-tech weapons, which led to Vladimir Putin’s military response in February 2022.

The war in Ukraine, along with immigration and the US economy, are the great failures of this administration, dominated by the interests of the radical left in the US and with an agenda that did not work for them.

The war in Ukraine has cost the global economy more than $1.6 trillion in 2022 alone, according to a report by the German Institute for Economic Studies.

For Ukraine, the economic impact is estimated at more than $100 billion in lost revenue, but the damage to property and infrastructure is more than $300 billion. The cost of human lives and emigration is still incalculable and will take several months to determine after the war ends.
