The only question is: how will the weather be during the carnival days? Do you need the thickest costumes or is the not so warm cowboy outfit with shorts also possible? We got smart.

What do the internet portals say about the weather at carnival in NRW?

If you are looking for a weather forecast on the Internet, you will quickly find numerous providers. Wetter.de is currently promising a very good outlook for the Ruhr area: Shrove Monday and Shrove Tuesday the sun should shine all day long. But be careful: The maximum temperature should be “only” seven degrees. Wetteronline predicts temperatures between seven and ten degrees throughout NRW on the carnival days.

Even if various Internet portals offer an outlook for the next two weeks: A meteorologist from the German Weather Service in Essen currently advises against relying on it. The portals would all have different forecasts.






Can the expert still make a mini forecast for the carnival days? “Well, I can sell anything between clouds, drizzle and sunshine. At least there won’t be a storm. But whether you’ll get wet or not, we can’t tell yet.”


It is still too early for a serious prognosis. A week before carnival, the weather could be assessed more accurately.
