It’s not for nothing thatAvalonia, the strange journey has earned a place of choice in our selection of the best films to watch with the family: the animated feature film is brilliantly part of a more adult lineage developed by Disney in recent years.
On Avalonia, all is well in the brave new world since a plant offers the benefits of electricity to the inhabitants of the planet. But when this balance is upset, the Clade family, accustomed to the daily life of farmers, will have to reconnect with their past as adventurers. Together, they will explore an unknown universe, populated by mysterious creatures. Without ranking at the top of the best Disney films (we would have to fight with Raya and the Last Dragon Or Mulan), Avalonia, the strange journey nevertheless develops an original statement on ecology and the importance of taking care of our planet. It’s rare to capture these kinds of messages so clearly in a very mainstream production. And just for that, we can only salute the effort.

Series hearstopper on Netflix, a concentrate of love and kindness
We told you when it came out: Heartstopping was our favorite of the year 2022, in addition to being one of the best Netflix series. And for good reason, this adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novel ticks all the boxes of a series feel goodideal to start your weekend like on a cloud, on this Friday, February 10, 2023. Whether you are currently experiencing your first love emotions or not, Heartstopping will charm you with its delicate atmosphere in pastel colors. You clearly don’t have to be allergic to romances full of good feelings to appreciate this first season. But you really have to be a grump at its maximum level not to be at least softened by the story of Nick and Charlie.
These two English high school students, one introverted musician, the other popular rugby player, will gradually question their sexual orientations and end up falling in love throughout these eight episodes. Thanks to its ultra-benevolent storytelling, the series does a lot of good for LGBTQIA+ morale and representation, whose romances are all too often associated with tragic fates. As sweet as a good hot chocolate, hearstopper can be enjoyed as well with the family, chosen or not, as comfortably snuggled up in the arms of your partner. And we obviously advise you to extend the experience with Alice Oseman’s novels, which are just as peaceful.
