He should have kept that secret to himself…

In the second part of Günther Jauch’s “3 million euro week”, the next “Who wants to be a millionaire?” candidates dared to sit on the council chair on Tuesday evening. Among them radio presenter Maik Müller from Potsdam, who chatted happily with the quizmaster about his career. The 33-year-old slipped out something that must have surprised Mom at home.

As soon as Müller had answered the first questions, Jauch addressed a sensitive topic. Müller is also a long-term student. The quiz master asked. “You didn’t fall on your head. How do you explain 26 semesters?” At first his counterpart joked: “It’s now a hobby I’ve come to love”, then reported about a change of university in order to be able to continue studying in his hometown of Potsdam.

Müller explained: “I needed an internship there. And that’s how I got into radio. I just got stuck there.” He now moderates a morning show and is struggling with his studies. However, he promised: “For the sake of my mother, I will finish it at some point.” However, Günther Jauch had doubts. And his candidate also had to admit: “That requires a lot of discipline, which collides with my sleeping rhythm.”

University degree unrealistic for candidates

Even distance learning, for which Müller has now enrolled, did not prove to be an alternative. The moderator prophesied to his candidate: “Shall I give you a tip? You’ll NEVER complete it.” The perpetual student’s reaction surprised him, though. Müller admitted with a laugh: “I know that. Only my mother doesn’t.”

With this counter he earned applause from the audience in the studio. At the same time, however, it became clear to him: “It wasn’t so clever with television and such.” When it came to gambling, things went much better for the radio man. In Jauch’s “3 million euro week”, anyone who makes it onto the council chair can qualify for the grand finale on Friday. For this, however, at least 16,000 euros must be earned beforehand.

No problem for Müller, he only had to pass the 64,000 euro question. Jauch wanted to know: “What is the so-called Anstellgut used for?” A: preparing sourdough, B: lighting the fireplace, C: doing strength training or D: creating a raised bed.

The candidate gave up, took the money. Answer A is correct: when preparing sourdough. With 32,000 euros won, he is in the final and can hope for the big prize there.
