For this analysis, Profeco analyzed the most famous brands of Mayonnaise, that is, La Costeña and McCormick. These are the results of the study carried out by Profeco, which contemplated the brands that have forged a rivalry to dominate the dressing market in the country.

As reported in The Truth NewsPreviously, Profeco pointed out that it carried out a study on cooking oils, to determine which is the healthiest. This information was disseminated in the consumer magazine, where advice for consumers is given.

Profeco reveals which is the best mayonnaise

Profeco carried out a couple of quality studies, which it has shared in the Consumer Magazine in which it exhibited the amount of sodium and fat that both products contain. As is known, mayonnaise has a high fat content, so its excessive consumption can cause cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and overweight.

According to the agency’s study, the content of the La Costeña and McCormick mayonnaise brands is as follows:

• La Costeña mayonnaise with lemon juice of 385 grams. A 100-gram portion provides 720 kilocalories (kcal), plus added sugars.
• While a 190-gram product provides 1,455 milligrams (mg) of sodium per container, and 766 milligrams per 100 grams of consumption.
• McCormick mayonnaise with lemon juice 320 grams. A portion of 100 grams provides 745 kcal and also adds sugars.
• While a 285-gram container provides 1,754 milligrams of sodium, and each 100 grams provides 816 milligrams of sodium.

In this sense, Profeco determined that the brand McCormick It is the worst mayonnaise, according to the Profeco study, since it has a high sodium content, in addition to providing a higher caloric intake compared to the competition.
