Tradition explains that the meat is divided into three parts, one for the family, another for friends and another for the needy.

When is it celebrated

The exact date of the Feast of the Lamb is different each year, as it is based on the Islamic lunar calendar. They must be counted 70 days after the conclusion of Ramadan, so it coincides with the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. The Qur’an states that Eid Al-Adha should be celebrated on tenth day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Depending on the placement of the moon, the date is not necessarily the same in all countries, as it may be different in geographically distant countries. In spain, the official celebration date lasts three days. Specifically, it began Sunday June 16and finish the Tuesday June 18. In Ceuta, on the other hand, the festival begins on June 17.
