The Government advances in the creation of a national software company with a similar model to that of Arsat and Invap, with the aim of having an agile response to the demands for solutions that the public sector has and the lack of talent.
This company in formation already has the support of the Unión Informática union, which considered the state initiative “necessary” and fought for the “participation of workers” in the sector since “the fundamental asset and critical factor in every computer company is not in its hardware but in the human vector”.
The Secretary of the Knowledge Economy, Ariel Sujarchuk, highlighted the work carried out in 2022 and listed the initiatives for 2023 with the goal of reaching US$9 billion in exports from the knowledge industry, Télam said.
On the initiative of the Ministry to create a national software company, Sujarchuk pointed out that the idea arose from the need to solve one of the biggest challenges facing the IT sector not only in Argentina but in the world, which is talent retention.
“These are profiles that are in very high demand. At the same time, the State constantly needs and consumes systems, but it also handles sensitive information. That is why we thought of a state company that could respond much more quickly to the demands we have, with significant cost savings for the State, which is not a minor issue”
What format will the state software company have?
According to the official, the idea is that this state company has a close relationship with the private sector and it can benefit the industry and SMEs “because it will make it easier for these small providers of software and IT services to gather together and enter into large tenders to sell their products and services more efficiently,” he explained.

Sujarchuk acknowledged that the State, due to their salary categories, cannot satisfy or contain the demand for IT professionals, and for this reason they will follow a business model similar to that of Arsat and Invap, which have different work regimes than the rest of the public employees, with competitive salaries.
“In addition, the company will be able to hire the professionals that are necessary for projects and, even, hire other companies that are part of the tasks that are proposed. The company arrives to generate more employment and, at the same time, energize the industry software and strengthen their SMEs”, he added.
