Although for many it is nothing more than another invention made by the author of “The City and the Dogs”, the close circle of Vargas Llosa maintains that this is not the case. In the first place, because such a text manages to convey several signs of fatigue that the literary genius suffered after seven years with the one born in the Philippines.
In fact, during certain passages of the narration, the Peruvian tends to evoke the profile of his ex-wife and mother of his three children, Carmen, since such an individual longs to leave a totally dystopian reality to go to his old home, Located on Calle de la Flora in Madrid, the house he shared with his first wife.
“When we read ‘Los vientos’ we saw the clear autobiographical references and also the references to his relationship with Isabel, although of course he doesn’t use her name at all”said a close friend of the writer during the conversation with “El País”.
