Who receives the $1,900 from Social Security this May 3?

MIAMI.- As every month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) makes payments, this time corresponding to July, to millions of beneficiaries of its various programs.

Social Security is a federal program that provides financial benefits to eligible individuals, including retired workers, people with disabilities, and family members of deceased workers, to help them meet the high cost of living.

Monthly payments are intended for retired workers and people enrolled in Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).

The date beneficiaries receive their SSA check varies depending on their birth date. Recipients born between the 1st and 10th receive their deposit on the second Wednesday of the month, while workers born between the 11th and 20th receive their funds on the third Wednesday, and those born between the 21st and 31st receive their check on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Retirees who retired before May 1997 and SSI recipients receive their checks at the beginning of each month, regardless of their date of birth.

To be eligible for SSI, people must meet a number of requirements that demonstrate that they require this financial assistance. Mainly, they must have limited income and resources, suffer from total or partial blindness, and suffer from a physical or mental condition that limits daily activities for a year or more.

Who will receive it this 17th? of July?

If you were not one of the retirees eligible for the payments made on July 3 and July 10, you may still be eligible to receive one of the following benefits scheduled on the Social Security schedule.

After both SSDI and SSI sent a double payment to retirees and the disabled during the first week of July, this Wednesday, July 17, beneficiaries born between the 11th and the 20th of any month will receive an average payment of $1,900 dollars from Social Security.

The next and final social contribution, scheduled for July 24, will be made to recipients born between the 21st and 31st.

How much is the payment?

Not all beneficiaries receive the same amount. In 2024, according to official SSA data, the average monthly payment for a retiree is $1,907 for individuals and $3,303 for couples filing jointly.

Those who benefit from SSI checks, on the other hand, receive an average of $943 per month for individuals and $1,415 for couples.

These amounts may vary depending on different factors such as retirement age, work history and contributions to the Social Security system.

Those who retire at age 62 can receive up to $2,710 per month, while those who wait until age 65 are eligible for an amount of $3,426. Meanwhile, people who postpone retirement until age 66 can get up to $3,652 and those who wait until age 70 can receive a maximum payment of up to $4,873.

If you have direct deposit activated, you can expect to receive your payment without any problems on this date. For those who have not activated this method, the contribution will arrive in the following days by mail.
