The endless drama of traffic accidents once again hit the Region in the worst way. Franco Tomás Sánchez, only 21 years old and a native of Magdalena, was identified as one of the seven people who died in the bus that crashed violently on a route in Brazil.

As EL DIA reported in its previous edition, the road accident occurred at kilometer 232 of route 277, when a bus from the company “A Catarinense” overturned and fell into a ravine with 54 passengers on board in Pinheiro, central region of Parana.

In total there were 7 deaths (5 are Argentines) and 22 wounded.

Franco, who last year had successfully completed the second year of law school at the National University of La Plata and was President of the Radical Youth of Magdalena, was with a friend enjoying their vacations in the neighboring country .

Days before getting on the bus where he met his tragic end, the young man from Magdalena had even shared photos of his trip through his social networks. “They were his last days in Brazil, he was about to return,” a close friend of the victim revealed to this newspaper.

Sánchez’s fatal outcome caused enormous shock and sadness throughout the City since he was very loved not only by his family, but also by his friends and those who got to know him. “Franco was a bread from God, calm and a very good person,” they detailed from his circle.

The tragedy occurred in the middle of the early hours of last Tuesday, around 1:50. At least 14 Argentines were traveling in the bus, five of whom died, including Franco.

Although the causes of the accident are still being investigated, the prosecutor in the case, Wesley Gonçalves da Silva, took a statement from the bus driver who reported “that he had fallen asleep” shortly before the accident on the road.

According to the official, the driver – released after his statement – could be accused of homicide. For its part, the transport company that employs it could also be charged, in case it is verified that the driver was not replaced and lacked the hours of rest necessary to face the trip.

In this context, the boy from Magdalena was confirmed yesterday by the Foreign Ministry authorities as one of the five Argentines who died in the fatal episode.

THE OLDEST OF THREE BROTHERS

In the midst of the anguish and anguish, Martín, a close friend of Franco Sánchez’s family, recounted the enormous impact that the news generated.

“It is a very great sadness. Franco was a great guy. He is always attentive and very loved by everyone, ”he said.

And in this line he added: “I can’t imagine the pain his family must feel. He was the eldest of three brothers. In May he was going to turn 22, ”he revealed with a broken voice.

The young man, from a large family and who currently had his parents living in Atalaya, was recognized among his family for a profile that led him to dream big. He “He finished the second year of Law at the UNLP with very good grades. He liked him a lot, ”Martín explained.

It is worth mentioning that Sánchez had recently been President-elect of the Radical Youth and also, as this newspaper learned, he supported the classes that were taught at the Gral. Lucio Mansilla de Bavio Agricultural School No. 1.

After the news about Franco’s tragic departure spread, many took the time on social networks to send him off with messages of pain.
