The magistrates of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), reported on the afternoon of this Friday the expulsion of Alexander Farfán Suárez, alias ‘Gafas’ and known for being the jailer of the FARC.
It was determined that alias Gafas deserted the peace agreements, added to the fact that he reoffended his criminal work, one of the mandatory requirements of the Jurisdiction to maintain the benefits of those who belong to the JEP.

With this decision, magistrate Caterina Heyck assured that “the transitional benefits that had been granted to him are rendered null and void and his proceedings are ordered to be sent to ordinary justice.”

Who is alias ‘Glasses’, expelled from the JEP?
The well-known FARC jailer was summoned for a procedure on Friday afternoon to explain to the jurisdiction why, despite the agreement to lay down his weapons, he was currently detained in the La Picota prison in Bogotá.
Hours after the procedure was called, a letter was released that alias Gafas sent from the prison, assuring that he had health problems and his inability to attend.
It should be remembered that the JEP opened a contempt case at the end of last month after learning of a resolution of the Presidency of the Republic, by means of which it was appointed as a member of the dialogue table between the national government and the dissidents of the FARC.
Glasses, was arrested in the historic Operation Jaque, carried out on July 4, 2008. His function was to monitor the former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, the three US contractors and several soldiers who were in the power of that subversive group.
