Marco S. (42) has been in front of the Bochum district court since Monday. Prosecutor Andreas Bachmann (57) accuses the security service employee of bodily harm resulting in death.

► Simon B. (41) got into a fight with other guests at the “Polarize” rave (3000 visitors) in Bochum on April 10 and had to go. The accused: “I took him out and there weren’t any problems. I got him his jacket from the cloakroom.”
According to the investigation, the family man (leaving a daughter, 16, and a son, 12) did not get a taxi – and wanted to go back in. The painter was apparently drunk and is said to have taken drugs.

Marco S. in tears: “He became aggressive, pushed me. So I brought him to the ground and fixed him. All of a sudden I noticed that he wasn’t moving anymore.”
However, the organizer (35) described the bouncer’s fixation differently, Marco S. used a stranglehold. “I saw that the man on the floor was turning blue. He sagged, but the grip was held for a few more seconds,” the witness said. All attempts to resuscitate Simon B. had failed.
The widow (48) also brought her children into the courtroom. “They really wanted to see who did this to their father,” she said. Her husband was a loving, helpful person. “It’s unbelievable that we have to live without him now.”
According to the defense, it is still unclear exactly what caused the death by asphyxiation. “My client was just doing his job, it was his job to enforce the house rules. He can’t cope with the experience, he’s undergoing psychological treatment,” said Michael Emde (59).
The process is continued – including the report of the medical examiner.
