A week after the arrival on Sony and Microsoft consoles, Capcom has decided to clarify some of its features once and for all Monster Hunter Riseamong which we find the cross-save.

Unlike what many fans of the series expected, the game it will not have full cross-save support on PlayStation and Xbox, although this feature has been partially implemented. Players will be able to transfer saves between consoles of the same family (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S). The only exception is the version of the game that will be distributed through the Microsoft Store on PC, whose saves will be the same as the Xbox edition. The only way to share progress between multiple platforms is therefore to play the Xbox version, which will allow you to switch between PC and console seamlessly. It should also be noted that there will be no progress export system for those who played on Nintendo Switch or Steam.

Here’s a recap of how Monster Hunter Rise cross-save works:

  • PlayStations: saves can be transferred between PS4 and PS5
  • Xboxes: saves are shared between Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Microsoft Store)
  • Nintendo Switch: not supported
  • PC (Steam): not supported
