Winter sales 2023: €300 less on the Radeon RX 6950XT 16GB
Not familiar with the Radeon RX 6950XT? It’s normal. This is a model released a bit on the sly last spring as part of the refresh of AMD’s RX 6000. We remain on an RDNA 2 architecture which embeds 5120 shaders 320 TMUs and 128 ROPs, but the XFX MERC 319 model which concerns us is slightly overclocked from factory with a maximum boost frequency of 2368Mhz.
We also benefit from 16 GB of GDDR6 in 256 bits for a bandwidth of 576 GB/s. the quantity is there to compensate for the lower bandwidth than at Nvidia where the capacity is lower (10 or 12 GB on a 3080 for example) but where the use of GDDR6X allows better bandwidth (760 GB/s to resume the example of the RTX 3080).
Rather imposing, the MERC 319 is a double slot card cooled by an imposing heat pipe dissipator with three axial fans. The set is also given for 2Kg all round. The advantage of this custom cooling is that you can either overclock everything or be able to play in relative silence.
