Abel Balbo’s team had another friendly test at City Bell and defeated Curicó Unido from Chile in a match where two 50-minute periods were played.
On a pleasant morning to watch football, several members and fans were present to see the second presentation of the DJ, since several days before, he had faced Los Andes. These matches were won 1-0 (Rollheiser), 2-0 (Zapiola and Pellegrino). Then another game was played, which ended 0-0.
Against the Chilean team, Estudiantes started with: Andújar; Godoy, Lollo, Romero, More; Rodriguez; Sosa, Rollheiser, Zapiola; Pellegrino and Boselli, starting with a 4-1-3-2 scheme, with “Corcho” Rodríguez at times forming a line of 5.
For his part, the visit enlisted with: Santelices; Barrios, Bechtholdt, Lara, De la Fuente; Nadruz, Sandoval, Ortiz; Castro, Vergara and Coelho.
The first half ended 0-0 (with an offside goal against Mauro Boselli). While in the second half, the team led by Balbo began winning after a rebound that the striker himself captured and sent it into the back of the net. 1-0 in just 3 minutes, to seal the final result.
For the second 50 minutes, Balbo sent Fernando Zuqui and Pablo Piatti to the field, replacing José Sosa and Franco Zapiola.
The substitutes also won
Those who did not have action in the first game, did in the second, where the DJ won 2-0 with goals from the experienced striker Pablo Piatti and Mauro Méndez.
In the second morning shift at City Bell, Balbo picked: Sappa; Mancuso, Guasone, Muñoz, Benedetti; Orosco, Piñero, Piatti, Zuqui; M. Godoy and Mendez.
