A 90-year-old master carpenter was seriously injured during sawing work in a carpenter’s workshop in Partenen on Saturday.
On Saturday morning, a retired, 90-year-old master carpenter was busy doing sawing work alone in a carpenter’s workshop. According to the Gaschurn Police Inspectorate, a moment of inattention may have led to the man getting his right hand caught in the running saw blade. Two fingers in the front joint were partially severed.

Despite the severity of his injuries, the pensioner managed to get help at a nearby house. The residents there immediately alerted the emergency services. After the first aid at the scene of the accident, the injured master carpenter was taken to the Feldkirch state hospital with the C8 emergency doctor helicopter.
