In this football year, there are some new regulations that are worth highlighting. For example, the transfer of players during the middle of the tournament may take place regardless of the minutes someone has played on their team. Thus, the opportunity is opened up for the footballers and the clubs themselves, who will have a broader spectrum to choose from.
THE ANFP prepares more changes for the future
The president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, was present at the first match of the current championship. In San Bernardo, Deportes Magallanes and O’Higgins de Rancagua met, a duel that ended in victory for the visit.
In the instance, the boss of our soccer spoke with TNT Sports and announced an innovative change that will begin in the lower divisions and that, if it turns out, it could be implemented in professionalism.
“In the sub 13 and sub 14, the player who is more than 15 seconds on the ground must leave the field for three minutes. It is a rule that is applied in the MLS,” said the head of the Quilín headquarters, in a measure that seeks to punish simulations and increase effective playing time.
In addition, he pointed out that “based on the analyzes we have made of the championships, in terms of actual game times, there is a factor that increases the few minutes played. We are one of the leagues that plays the least in South America and that is because of the simulation”.
Finally, he added that “we must begin to educate that simulation does not improve, but rather harms the show and participation, in the future, in international championships”, making a clear allusion to the fact that the rule could be implemented at an adult level in the future.
The MLS experience
This regulation was recently applied in soccer in the United States. Also in lower categories, it had its premiere in the 2022 season and, for this reason, there is still no final report on the experience received and to let us know if it is possible to apply it in the professional division of Major League Soccer.
