Maxence Lacroix (23) and Micky van de Ven (21) are in central defense at VfL Wolfsburg this season. While the latter can call himself the undisputed mainstay thanks to his excellent development since last summer, his French neighbor has held this status in the wolf pack for three years.
Now the time has come for a change of scenery, Lacroix apparently thinks. The ‘kicker’ tells the defender that he wants a change. The Wolfsburg chapter should end in the summer. The goal is open, but an interesting track to league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt has recently become apparent. One thing is clear: SGE would have to pay a not inconsiderable transfer fee, since VfL can refer to a contract until 2025.
Van de Ven not for sale
The amount of Lacroix’ transfer from can only be speculated. However, it does not take a crystal ball to rate that of defense colleague van de Ven much higher. The Dutchman recently extended his contract to 2027 – but business is business. From a certain amount, the Wolfsburg will probably not stand in the way this summer.
In this context, the ‘kicker’ received notice of a pain limit. According to the trade journal, van de Ven should not be available for less than 40 million euros. A new clue after there had been talk of a transfer fee of at least 30 million euros in the past few weeks.
