While Marvel’s Midnight Suns surprised the public last November with its many assets, Firaxis Games first made a name for itself with the reboot of the legendary turn-based tactical RPG saga XCOM in 2012. Fans have never failed to recall their attachment to this saga, but the director of XCOM at Firaxis Games made things clear today.

No XCOM sequel planned at Firaxis for the moment

Indeed, Jake Solomon, the director of XCOM and XCOM 2, said that no sequel was in the studio’s pipeline at the moment despite strong fan demand. It was in an interview with VGC that he opened up on this subject.

“Of course you can ask (laughs), you can add your voice to the choir that echoes in the hills.

I personally don’t have any information on this at the moment and I’m saying this because, honestly, yesterday I was working on the Morbius Abbey outfits and recolors, so I’m not working on that. I don’t have a secret agenda, I don’t know anything about XCOM at this point.”

The message is clear and the Firaxis Games teams seem, in fact, quite focused on the follow-up to Midnight Suns which has just welcomed its first DLC named The Good, The Bad, and the Undead with Deadpool at the top of the bill. Nevertheless, let the fans be reassured, because last year, Jake Solomon had also declared this to our colleagues from VGC:

“As long as I live, as long as Firaxis lives, XCOM is…I won’t even say it sleeps. I will say that XCOM is definitely not dead. »

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is still available from December 2, 2022 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
