The employee tax assessment this year harbors some pitfalls. You should definitely take note of this.
Some campaigns by the Chamber of Labor have already advertised how citizens can get their money back from tax equalization. Eva-Maria Düringer, tax law expert at AK Vorarlberg, has also noticed that some people are struggling with inflation. “We notice extremely that the employees calculate with the money that they get back from the tax,” she describes in the Vorarlberg LIVE show.
In the case of employee tax assessments, it is important to present all the documents to the tax office, otherwise it could be that a notice of additional payment subsequently finds its way into the mailbox. This year, the commuter allowance is very important because a lot of money could be lost there. “Employees who are entitled to a commuter allowance have a higher allowance for 2022 from May to December according to the regulation. If you overlook this, you lose money. That’s what we’re here for,” explains Düringer.
So that something like this doesn’t go under, it is advantageous to book an appointment with the tax office. Because it is no longer possible to simply walk past. “We’ve changed things up a bit and also offer a telephone service where we can also advise people,” explains the tax expert. “You have to reckon with the fact that you might not get an appointment until May. We’re fully booked, not because we’re working slowly, but because we’re very busy.”
