In Berisso they still do not come out of the astonishment after the plane crash that almost ended tragedy during the early hours of this Thursday, where a plane from Uruguay crashed with two men on board. The plane, which was heading to the Ezeiza International Airport, would have tried to land at the La Plata airport due to a mechanical failure, but it could not do so and fell into a field located in the vicinity of 635 and Route 11.
In the midst of the commotion, the neighbors were soon present at the scene and were the first to speak with the two pilots of the Gran Caravan plane from Uruguay. “The truth is that you were born again”one of the front crew members told the pilot the man who moments before had been forced to make an emergency landing on the spot.
According to the researchers, the aircraft would have run out of fuel in mid-flight and suffered a mechanical failure, for which the pilots on board were forced to carry out a risky maneuver that could well have cost them their lives. The men decided to land in the place and chose a field for it, where the plane impacted fully and began to burn rapidly. Although they managed to escape the flames, the two occupants had to be treated later by personnel from the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME) who quickly arrived at the scene and verified that, fortunately, neither of them was at any risk.
The pilots ended up making a forced landing near Barrio La Hermosura, causing a great scare among the residents. Once they made landfall, the ship was destroyed, it began to catch fire and the victims had to quickly escape from it to avoid the flames.
Paramedics from the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME), firefighters from Berisso and La Plata, and police personnel quickly arrived in the area to avoid further inconvenience. The 26 and 51-year-old pilots, for their part, suffered minor injuries and burns, for which they were transferred to the San Martín hospital as a precaution.
Now the Transportation Safety Board (JST) is investigating what happened to determine for sure what caused the malfunction and led to the shocking accident that miraculously ended without fatalities.
